Day 02

OPTIONAL MOUNTAIN FLIGHT/ PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR

One of the must-see landmarks of Nepal is, of course, the highest peak in the world – Mount Everest. An awe-stricken silence comes close to matching the experience of a mountain flight. For one hour, you'll fly over the Eastern Himalayan Ranges of Nepal where some of the highest peaks in the world including Mt. Everest lie for a surreal feeling as you come face to face with the world's tallest and most enigmatic of Mountains.

Even those visitors who like the rigors of a trek won't miss the opportunity to "conquer" the mountains in one stunning swoop.

After breakfast at the hotel, commence the Photography tour of Bungamati, Khokana and Kritipur.

Bungamati and Khokana are typical ancient Newar Villages. This village are located south of Kathmandu down a rutty road dotted with chaityas, appropriate for an ancient procession route. Bungamati is famous as the winter home of the Red Machhendra god of Patan who resides every winter in a powerful, Shikhara-style temple. Its spacious courtyard is often used for spreading grain to dry in the sun and where chicken-farming is strictly forbidden.Khokana is the twin Newar Village lying next to Bungmati, both dating back to the 16th century. In between the two settlements is the temple of KaryaBinayak . Just like Bungmati, Khokana is a compact village. Running through it is a wide main street, which was built after the 1934 earthquake. In the middle of the street is the temple of SikaliMai, Khokana's guardian mother goddess. Khokana has long been famous as an oil-pressing center where mustard seeds are pressed using traditional methods.

Kirtipur: On a spur at the southwestern side of the Kathmandu valley, 4 kilometer from the city, is the town of Kirtipur. This ancient town is historically significant for it stood in the way of King Prithivi Narayan Shah's quest to unity Nepal in the late 18th Century. It's eventual defeat paved the way for the conquering of Kathmandu Valley by the Shah dynasty, which still reigns to this day.

Kirtipur is also the setting of colorful festivals of the Newars, notably the IndreniJatra that takes place each year between the month of December and January. This is a colorful occasion that lasts for three days.

Overnight at Hotel.

Meals: Breakfast.

Day 03

PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Pashupatinath with Sadhu Baba and drive to Changunarayan for day hike to Nagarkot.

We will meet the Sadhu Basa at Pashupatinath in the morning, talk about their daily life through interpreter (note: they do not speak fluently in English) and take some photographs with them. After ½ an hour we drive to Changunarayan.

The trip begins with a short drive hour and half approx. to Chhangunarayan. This is the oldest pagoda structure temple from Nepal erected in the Lichhavi dynasty by King Manadev. We walk in and around the temple and hike to Nagarkot (2175 m) approx. 5-6 hours. The hike goes through the villages and the hills around Kathmandu valley so you would have quite beautiful views of entire valley and the panorama of the mountains. After the day hike drive back to Kathmandu.

Overnight at Hotel.

Meals: Breakfast.

Day 04

DRIVE TO CHITWAN (6-7hrs)

Breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Chitwan 6-7 hours under normal road conditioned.

For a country known for its beautiful mountains, the gigantic flat lands of Terai that stretches throughout the southern part of Nepal; provide a wholly different experience section on the Terai. A visit to Nepal remains incomplete without seeing the beauty of the Terai.

The Royal Chitwan National Park, established in 1973, provides a great wildlife experience with its rich flora and fauna. The wildlife and the landscape are not as breathtaking as those found in Africa but still, the experience will stand out.

Chitwan is only 150m above the sea level. The place gets steamy from March-June, with peak temperatures reaching 43°C in the shade. Short grass makes Feb-May the best game-viewing season, but the autumn months are gorgeous, with Himalayan views, and in winter (December-January), Chitwan is pleasantly warmed compared to Kathmandu. The monsoon season (July-August) is intense, with pounding rain, swollen rivers, and luxuriant vegetation. While the rain isn't constant, the humidity is all pervasive.

After lunch sightseeing tour of Tharu Village: The sacred land of Terai was the homeland of Tharu tribes. These mysterious people are considered as descendants of the Buddha (there are some indications supporting this claim). Although very little is known about Tharus, it is clear that they lived here long before arrival of Indo-Europeans.

The name of Chitwan is derived from Tharu's words "Chit" (meaning "dense") and Ban (meaning "forest").

Indeed for millennia the area was covered by thick jungle-like subtropical forests intertwined with swaths of grasslands.

The Tharu Village (Badrahani) located near Sauraha (at the edge of the ChitwanNational Park) is a sort of living museum, place where the time runs at the fraction of its normal speed observed in the Western Hemisphere. You can see mud and clay-built ochre-colored houses with thatched roofs. These simple, mostly one-room structures with no chimney and no windows seemingly have little to hide from the outside world. During a day, life takes place outside. You may spot an old sewing machine on the porch, pots hanging above the fire, goats wondering around, barking dog making clear who is the boss there.

One of these houses is converted into the little one-room museum displaying typical Tharus tools, pieces of kitchen stuff, some musical instruments, artifacts and other paraphernalia from their everyday lives.

Overnight at Hotel.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 05

JUNGLE ACTIVITIES

Full-Day Jungle activities:

ELEPHANT SAFARI: Seated high on the back of an elephant, gain a unique viewpoint of the Chitwan jungle. As an experienced mahout tracks animals through the dense jungle growth as you sit back on a howdah, you can imagine yourself being a Rajah or Rani going on a shooting trip (with cameras of course!) in the days of yore. An elephant safari allows you to go places that would be impossible to get to by foot or Jeep and get up close to the wild animals of the jungle that are normally wary, but at home with a fellow creature of the jungle.

NATURE WALK: Take an exciting and invigorating walk through the lush sub-tropical jungles of Chitwan. Our trained naturalists take you to prime spots to view deer, rhinos, sloth bears and other wildlife. They will also give you interesting information about the various plants and animals of the jungle throughout your walk.

JEEP SAFARI: A jeep safari is the fastest way to explore wide area of the park. A whole 4-hours drive takes about 45 km in the park passing through the grasslands, riverine forests and Sal forests to Kasara (the National Park's head office). Gharial Hatchery Farm where you will learn about how they collect crocodile's eggs and hatch them and send them to river. So there are chances to see many animals. We also can organize whole day jeep drive with packed lunch as per your interest, which you can explore most part of the park.

Photography tour to local village:

Today you will visit the Tharu village and Tharu Cultural Museum in Harnari, one of the best villages to get a taste of Tharu culture. It has displays of ornaments and a rakshi distillery pot.

Overnight at Hotel.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 06

DRIVE TO POKHARA (5-6 hrs)

After breakfast at the hotel we drive to Pokhara-210kms.

Pokhara is a remarkable place of natural beauty. At an elevation lower than that of Kathmandu, it has much more tropical feel to it; a fact well appreciated by the beautiful diverse flowers that prosper in this environment. The enchanting city with a population of around 95,000 has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning panaromic views of Himalayan peaks. The valleys surrounding Pokhara is home to thick forest, gushing rivers, emerald lakes and of course, the views of world famous Himalayas. The serenity of the lakes and the magnificence of the Himalayas rising behind them create an ambience of peace and magic.

Pokhara is the most popular destination for visitors to Nepal. The city is also known as the center of adventure. There is little in its past by way of neither history nor culture impact and the only important role that the old Pokhara played was that it was along the route of trade between India and Tibet. Today it is one of the fastest developing cities of Nepal, mainly due to tourism.

The natural beauty of its lakeside location and its proximity to the mountains has made it the natural choice for trekkers and adventures. Pokhara is also the base for some of most famous trekking circuits of Nepal. By itself surrounding area provides ample scope for short walk and day trips, suitable for children or weary trekkers, which can be made around the valley.

On arrival transer to Hotel for rest of the day at leasure and in the evening go for 1 hour boat ride at Lakh Phewa.

Visit local Village near by town in Pokhara.

After noon we visit nearby village of Pokhar city where you can witness the land of the Magars and Gurungs, hardworking farmers and valorous warriors who have earned world-wide fame as Gurkha soldiers. The Thakalis, another important ethnic group here, are known for their entrepreneurship.

Afternoon: 1 hour boat ride at Lake Phewa.

Phewa Lake: Spend a quiet time boating in the ultimate lake where the reflections of Mount Annapurna and Machhapuchhre range falls. You will also see a variety of fishes while boating. An island temple is located at the middle of the lake. Thick forest lies on the adjoining southern slopes of the lake. It's hard to escape the draw of Phewa Lake and any visitor with even a few spare minutes should endeavour to take a boat out on the water to fully experience the wonderful views of the reflected mountains.

Overnight at Hotel.

Meals: Breakfast.

Day 07

PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR

After breakfast at the hotel we drive from Pokhara to Kalika (45 minutes) and approx. 2-3 hrs walk around the village and top of the hill where you can witness the mixed Nepali inhabitance around example, Brahmin's, Chettri's, Gurung's and other ethnic castes. After visiting Kalika village we drive back to Pokhara en-route visit Buffalo farming.

Buffaloes have been raised under farming systems of Nepal throughout the known history. They are the traditional provider of milk, meat, hides, manure, draft power and also the reserve capital for the farm families. They are mainly raised by the smallholder farmers across all the physio-graphic agro-ecological (Agro-eco) zones of the country. Due to a key role played by buffalo in the farming systems of the country from the time immemorial to date, interest in this livestock species is ever growing as more systematic planning is adopted for growth of the country's agrarian economy.

Economic traits are those traits which monetary value in the production of livestock. Many traits in farm animals are affected by many pairs of jeans and there is no sharp distinction among phenotypes but there is more or less continuous range from one phenotypic expression to another. These are known as quantitative trait or economic trait. Environment has great influence on the expression of most quantitative traits.

Overnight at Hotel.
